Common
questions
Performance coaching is about improving technique and speed — regardless of your starting point. Many of our athletes are triathletes who learned to swim as adults, open water swimmers, or club swimmers who've hit a plateau. It is not about swimming lessons from scratch; if you can swim a length, coaching can make you significantly faster and more efficient.
Triathlon swim coaching focuses on race-specific skills: open water confidence, sighting, pack swimming, drafting, and efficient freestyle that leaves energy for the bike and run. Your coach understands the full triathlon context — not just pool technique — and programmes sessions around your race calendar and weekly training load.
Weekly sessions and the Hertfordshire camps are held at The Venue Leisure Centre in Borehamwood (WD6). Holiday camps are coming to Barnes, South West London (SW13), and Berkhamsted, West Hertfordshire (HP4): register interest for Barnes or Berkhamsted. When you enquire, we'll confirm times with you.
Many athletes notice tangible technique changes in the first one or two sessions. Sustained speed gains typically develop over 6–12 sessions as new movement patterns become automatic. Your coach will set clear goals and review progress regularly so you always know where you're heading and why.
Yes. We work with junior club swimmers at all levels, from age-group development through to county and national qualifiers. All sessions for under-18s require a parent or guardian on-site or nearby as agreed with your coach.
