training skips
Club sessions are built around lengths and sets. With a full lane there is rarely time to stop and fix a start, a turn or a stroke. Two hours a morning and a maximum of 18 swimmers a day give the coach that time.
All Four
Strokes
Technique work on freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, with a coach watching each swimmer rather than just setting the clock.
Starts
Getting off the blocks well: a clean entry, a strong streamline and a fast first few strokes, where a race is often decided.
Turns
Tumble and open turns, the push off the wall and the breakout. Every length has a turn, so the gains repeat in every race.
Race
Skills
Putting it together at speed: pacing, sprints, and relays that bring the starts and turns into a team race.
Club swimmers
aged 9 to 16
- Trains with a club and is used to a coached session with sets and a pace clock.
- Can comfortably swim 50m and 100m of more than one stroke.
- Age 9 to 16 on the first day.
- Not for beginners. If your swimmer is still learning strokes, this is not the right week for them, and we would rather say so now.

Questions parents
ask first
Because 8 to 10am is the lane time the pool has in half term. Swimmers are in the water at 8, out by 10 and changed by about 10:15, so the rest of the day is still theirs. Be changed and on poolside by 7:55.
Yes. A single morning is £50 and you pick the days when you book. Any three mornings are £100, applied automatically. The full week is £160, the opening rate for this first camp. Every price includes the booking fee and no code is needed. The list price is £200 from February.
That is normal. Swimmers come from clubs across Hertfordshire and north London, so nobody is the odd one out. Most are in a lane with new faces by the first turn.
